Dave: “This recipe calls for butter.” Rubble: “Might I suggest chicken instead.” Dave: “It’s a dessert, Rubble.”

Dave: “Recipe says one level teaspoon.” Rubble: “My professional measurement is one heaped spoon of chicken.” Dave: “That’s not a measurement, that’s a preference.”

Dave: “Which one should we cook tonight?” Rubble: “Whichever one smells more like chicken.” Dave: “You haven’t smelled either of them.”

Dave: “That’s the whole family at Sunday lunch.” Rubble: “I don’t see myself.” Dave: “This was taken before you were born.”

Dave: “This recipe goes back five generations.” Rubble: “Which generation invented gravy?” Dave: “That’s not how family trees work.”

Dave: “Some recipes are too important to lose.” Rubble: “Does it mention chicken?” Dave: “It’s your first question every time.” Rubble: “It’s an important question.”

Dave: “The recipe tells you what to cook.” Rubble: “What tells you why?” Dave: “The story behind it.” Rubble: “And whether there’s chicken.”

Dave: “That’s ready for the table.” Rubble: “I should test it first.” Dave: “That isn’t your job.” Rubble: “It could be.”

Dave: “Every recipe has a secret ingredient.” Rubble: “Is it chicken?” Dave: “It’s patience.” Rubble: “I preferred chicken.”

Dave: “Which dish should we cook next?” Rubble: “The one with chicken.” Dave: “That isn’t a nomination.” Rubble: “It is now.”

Dave: “Nominate the family dish everyone should taste.” Rubble: “Can I nominate Butter Chicken?” Dave: “You do. Every week.”

Dave: “This week’s dish comes from Gautam and his mum, Shobha.” Rubble: “Did they make one for me?” Dave: “You can have the story.”
